I was looking for something to truly motivate me towards reaching my goals of losing weight, getting my Diabetes under control and feeling better mentally and physically.
I found CrossFit Guelph through my wife who had joined their boot camp. She told me how great it was and that I should try it I started with six weeks of personal training with owner Michael Fall then proceeded to regular CrossFit classes.
When I started I couldn’t even do the warm ups without being out of breath and needing to sit down, just hanging from a bar was not happening and I didn’t even know where to start with lifting weights. I often wondered what everyone thought of me, but everyone was supportive and there was no negative judgment passed down, ego’s were left at the door.
The coaches are continuously encouraging and making me work for what I needed to reach my goals. They helped me with my nutrition, mind and body. After a year and a half I feel better, in every way, than I have in my entire life.
I started my goal of losing weight, before starting CrossFit, at nearly 300lbs, I got down to 250 lbs on my own through diet but could not do more, CrossFit helped me over that hump and for that I am grateful. I would recommend CrossFit Guelph to anyone interested in feeling better.
Since joining I no longer have Diabetic symptoms after having them for 15 years, I have lost almost 45lbs additional pounds and feel and look stronger than ever, they have coached me through many of the movements associated with CrossFit and I can now do most of them successfully, I can even do 4-5 strict pull ups.
No matter what you feel your skill level is at it doesn’t matter, there is a starting point for everyone. CrossFit Guelph has helped me, and I am sure they will help many more achieve their goals.
